Do you want to create joy in movement, security, and development for middle school students? We are now looking for an engaged PE teacher for Sommarhemsskolan, grades 7–9 in Uddevalla.

About the Workplace

Here, you will become an important part of a school focused on security, study environment, and increased goal achievement. We work to create a school culture where students are met with clear expectations, good relationships, and teaching that gives them the opportunity to develop both academically and socially.

Sommarhemsskolan has dedicated staff, functioning work teams, and a student health team that works closely with the teachers. The school also works with IBIS (Inclusive Behavioral Support in Schools) as support in creating safe and positive learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Teach Physical Education and Health in grades 7–9.
• Plan, implement, follow up on, and assess teaching based on current guidelines.
• Create safe, clear, and inclusive lessons where students have the opportunity to develop.
• Adapt teaching based on students' different needs and prerequisites.
• Coordinate and develop the school's sports days and activities related to health, movement, and community.
• Collaborate with colleagues, student health services, and guardians regarding students' learning and development.

We are looking for someone who

• Is a secure and clear leader who builds good relationships with students and creates teaching where students dare to participate, develop, and succeed.
• Has a strong commitment to Physical Education and Health and wants to contribute to joy in movement, community, and good habits for the students.
• Is skilled at adapting teaching so that students with different needs and prerequisites can participate and reach as far as possible.
• Enjoys collaboration and wants to contribute both in the work team and in the school's joint work on security, study environment, and the students' entire school day.
• Is proactive and wants to help develop the PE subject, the school's sports days, and cooperation with sports clubs and other actors.

Qualifications

• Teacher certification with eligibility to teach Physical Education and Health.
• Good knowledge of the school's guidelines.
• Ability to plan, implement, assess, and develop teaching.

It is meritorious if you have experience teaching in middle school, eligibility in an additional subject, mentorship experience, planning of sports days or other student activities, and cooperation with sports clubs or other actors outside the school.
