The Clinical Area (VO) of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) has approximately 900 employees and consists of gynecological and obstetric activities in both Lund and Malmö. As a university hospital, we also have assignments within research, development, and education. Successful research is conducted within the clinical area, and several midwives are doctoral students. A research group is led by a professor in the field of sexual, reproductive, and perinatal health.

The obstetric area includes delivery wards, neonatal wards (BB), specialized maternity care, and ultrasound services in both Lund and Malmö. The Clinical Area of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Sus is one of the three largest maternity care providers in Sweden.

About the Neonatal Ward in Lund

The neonatal ward in Lund is a highly specialized unit for pre- and postnatal care. Here, we receive patients from all over southern Sweden who have experienced complications during their pregnancy from week 22+0. We have close cooperation with the Delivery Ward, Neonatal Ward, and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. At the neonatal ward, we have 26 care beds, of which 8 are for pregnant women with complications and 18 are for postpartum women with complications or whose children are cared for in the neonatal ward. In close proximity to the ward, there is a follow-up clinic and a breastfeeding clinic. In autumn 2023, we launched the "BB at Home" program.

Job Description

We are looking for nurses for our neonatal ward!

On the neonatal ward, midwives, pediatric nurses, nurses, nursing assistants, and doctors work together around the patient. We are divided into teams consisting of a midwife/nurse and a nursing assistant who together are responsible for their patients. At the unit, we work with both complicated and normal processes regarding pregnancy and postnatal care. We also care for patients who are to be delivered via planned cesarean section and pregnant women starting labor induction.

In your role as a nurse, you work with the newly delivered woman, the newborn baby, and the new family, focusing on breastfeeding support and care for both parent and child with the goal of providing the best care and start for the entire family.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with permission to practice in Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required. It is an advantage if you have work experience in women's or children's healthcare.
