We are now expanding the number of students at Uppsala Adapted Upper Secondary School (Uppsala AG). Uppsala AG consists of two school units: Fyris AG and Jälla AG. By autumn, the school will have approximately 170 students and 100 employees. Here, you will meet students with intellectual disabilities who are studying national or individual programs. This autumn, we need to increase the number of teachers within the national program at Fyris AG. We are looking for you who want to make a real difference, every day.

Description of duties

As a teacher here, you plan, conduct, and evaluate teaching based on each student's unique cognitive and communicative prerequisites. Since our students have different needs, flexibility and the ability to differentiate instruction are crucial.

You structure and create predictability using visual aids, sign support, digital tools, and concrete materials. You lead teaching in the classroom and collaborate closely with student assistants. Teaching does not only take place in the classroom. You connect theory to practice by using the local environment and meaningful contexts. Our primary search is for Mathematics and Natural Sciences (NO), but we are very open to other combinations within common upper secondary subjects (GGÄ) such as Swedish, English, or Social Studies.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a teaching license. It is meritorious to have the qualification to teach Mathematics and Natural Sciences. It is also meritorious to have a Special Education Teacher degree with a focus on Intellectual Disability (IF). Previous experience working with students in adapted school forms is also seen as an advantage. You have a good understanding of how students have different prerequisites for absorbing knowledge. In your teaching, you adapt your way of conveying knowledge to the recipient.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
