Are you a meticulous and engaged accountant who wants to work part-time, thrives on responsibility, and enjoys working in a dynamic and exciting environment? We are now looking for an accountant to join our team at Malmö Arena and Malmö Arena Hotel! The position is a permanent part-time role at 50%, with an initial probationary period. Start date in August/September.

About the role

As an accountant with us, you will become a key player in the finance department, responsible for ongoing bookkeeping, financial reporting, and analysis at Malmö Arena Hotel. You report to the Finance Manager but work closely with the Hotel General Manager.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• Ongoing bookkeeping, supplier and customer accounts, and bank reconciliations
• Monthly, quarterly, and annual closing
• VAT reporting, tax declarations, and AGI reporting
• Budget monitoring and variance analysis
• Support during audits and work on improving internal routines
• Participation in internal meetings and economic special projects

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who:

• Wants to work part-time
• Has a university degree or vocational training in economics/accounting
• Has at least 2–5 years of experience in similar roles within the hotel industry
• Has good knowledge of accounting and business systems (e.g., Visma or Fortnox)
• Has very good knowledge of Excel
• Has good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written. Knowledge of English is an asset.

As a person, you are meticulous and structured, with an eye for detail and the ability to work systematically to ensure accurate financial reports. You have an analytical ability that allows you to interpret figures, identify discrepancies, and understand financial connections. Taking responsibility and having a high ethical awareness are second nature to you, as you work with sensitive financial information and understand the importance of maintaining high integrity.

You enjoy solving problems and have a solution-oriented approach when challenges arise in accounting. Since you often communicate financial information to people without an economic background, you have a pedagogical and clear communication style. You work independently and take initiative, but also collaborate easily with colleagues and other stakeholders. Additionally, you are flexible and can handle varying workloads and strict deadlines without compromising on the quality of your work.
