About Vänerskolan
All students have the right to a school that gives them the opportunity to develop based on their own prerequisites. SPSM operates schools on behalf of the state. We offer students a learning environment that provides opportunities for participation, learning, and development. We offer meaningful, stimulating, and important pedagogical work at our schools.
Vänerskolan in Vänersborg offers bilingual education in a sign language environment for students from preschool class through grade 10. Our students receive instruction in both Swedish Sign Language and written Swedish. We offer housing for those who cannot commute to school every day.
Our goal is a learning environment where every student has the opportunity to participate, develop, and feel a sense of belonging. Here, everyone can participate in social interaction, build relationships, and grow as individuals in a bilingual education.

Job Responsibilities
We are looking for a teacher to instruct Vänerskolan's students in grades 5-7.
You will teach Natural Sciences (NO), Swedish, Physical Education, English, and Spanish. You will be part of a work team responsible for students from preschool class to grade 7.
As a teacher with us, you will play a central role in creating a positive and safe learning environment where each student is given the opportunity to develop both academically and socially. You have a secure and clear leadership style in the classroom and create structure through clear frameworks and expectations.
You will plan, conduct, follow up on, and evaluate classroom instruction, both independently and in collaboration with others. You have documentation responsibilities related to the instruction and other parts of the educational assignment. The role includes responsibility for and management of national tests, grade writing, and assessment.
You will maintain continuous contact and collaboration with guardians. The position includes mentorship duties.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are:
- A certified teacher with eligibility for grades 5-7 (equivalent to grades 4-6 in primary school).
We are also looking for you who have:
Work Experience:
- Teaching experience within special school operations.
- Experience working in a sign language environment.
- Experience teaching students with hearing impairments in combination with ADHD/Autism Spectrum Disorder (NPF) and/or language disorders.
Language Skills and Communication Methods:
- Swedish Sign Language and Swedish. Since the position involves teaching in Swedish Sign Language, very good knowledge of this language is required.
IT Skills:
- Advantageous with experience working in V-class (virtual classroom) and Teams.
Personal Attributes:
- As a teacher, you take responsibility for both your teaching and the school's common assignments, with the students' learning and the school's goals in focus.
- You plan, conduct, and follow up on instruction independently based on the curriculum and assignments, take responsibility for your work, and actively contribute to the school's development.
- You collaborate easily and create good, trusting, and sustainable relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians.
- With a positive approach, a flexible working style, and a desire to develop together with others, you are a natural part of our team.

Employment Terms
Type of Employment: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer.
An extract from the criminal record must be presented prior to employment.
