In Sandviken's municipal primary schools, we work in a culture where collaboration and systematic quality work go hand in hand. Digital development has long been a natural part of our operations, and every student has access to their own computer as support in teaching. The Central Primary School Area is now looking for teaching assistants for the following schools:

• Västanbyn School, which is a grades F-3 school with approx. 170 students located on the northern outskirts of Sandviken, near the nature area Högbo Bruk. The school is characterized by strong safety efforts as well as knowledgeable and engaged staff.
• Sandbacka School, which is a grades F-2 school with just under 100 students, characterized by a family atmosphere. The school building is a beautiful renovated older building centrally located in Sandviken.
• Kungsgården School, located 8 km west of Sandviken, is a grades F-5 school. The school is close to nature with walking distance to Lake Storsjön, which we utilize both in teaching and for outdoor activities.

Job Description

As a teaching assistant, you work closely with individual students and student groups who are in need of special support during the school day. The assignment also includes work in the leisure time activities (fritids). You are an important support in the students' daily lives and work actively to promote both learning and social development. The goal is to create a safe and developmental school environment. The work takes place in close collaboration with teachers, leisure time center staff, and guardians.

You contribute by:

• Supporting students in teaching and during leisure time activities
• Working with clear pedagogy at group and individual levels
• Using visual aids and digital tools to explain and communicate

• Creating a safe and accessible learning environment
• Being sensitive to each student's needs
• Working solution-focused and with great engagement

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are secure, sensitive, and have an easy time building trust. You meet every student with respect and adapt your support based on needs and daily condition. You see what needs to be done and take initiative to create a functioning daily routine. Through close collaboration with colleagues and guardians, you contribute to a safe and developmental learning environment.

Requirements for the assignment:

• High school diploma (Gymnasieexamen)
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both orally and in writing

Experience and/or pedagogical education for working with students in need of special support is meritorious. IT competence and experience in using digital tools in pedagogical work is also an advantage.
