You want to make a difference and be part of shaping the future. Here, you will receive trust, development opportunities, and knowledgeable colleagues. We work together and are convinced that everyone wants and can learn.
About the Operations
The Primary School Administration in Borås Municipality is now launching a fourth unit for students in adapted primary school, Adapted Primary School Byttorp. We started our operations in the spring semester of 2026 and are located in the same beautiful premises as Byttorp School F-6.
Adapted Primary School welcomes students in grades 1–9 from all over Borås. We strive to provide our students with an educational and motivating school experience. Well-structured teaching and a strong belief in the students' inherent will and ability to learn are our starting points. The school also offers after-school care/KTS (short-term supervision) for all students.
Job Responsibilities
We are looking for an Assistant Teacher (Eleverassistent) who will create a safe and educational environment for our students within a team, where everyone plays an important role in the student's learning, development, and well-being.
You will, in collaboration with the responsible teacher, support students in daily activities as well as in after-school care and KTS (short-term supervision). The role involves providing support in teaching, contributing to structure and security, and adapting methods and the environment based on the student's individual needs. Adapted Primary School is an operation tailored to the student's needs, which also requires you as an assistant teacher to meet these needs with an attentive, structured, and low-arousal approach.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, we are looking for you who have relevant upper secondary education (child and youth care, assistant teacher education, or nursing care) or alternatively a degree in support pedagogy or social pedagogy from a folk high school or university college. It is desirable that you have experience working with people in need of support, for example from adapted primary school or healthcare-related work. We would appreciate that you have experience working with children/youth with disabilities and experience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and knowledge of PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System).
As a person, you are attentive, flexible, adaptable, and can handle changes in everyday life with calm and security, always keeping the student's best interests in focus. You have good collaboration skills and enjoy working closely with both educators and other staff. At the same time, you are confident in taking responsibility in all everyday situations.
