About the Job
The role involves developing a high-performance modular system for autonomous agents, with a focus on the bridge between strategic planning and reactive execution. You will be responsible for designing and implementing Reactive Behavior Trees that enable the system to make intelligent decisions in dynamic environments. Part of the work includes enabling interactive planning with Human-in-the-loop (HITL). This means creating systems that not only operate autonomously but can also receive and integrate human guidance and route adjustments in real-time without compromising safety or goal achievement.
About You
In accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance, only those admitted to undergraduate or advanced level studies may be employed as student assistants (amanuens). We are looking for you who are nearing the end of your engineering degree in computer science or media technology.
We want you to have:
- Experience in planning, using, and integrating AI systems.
- Experience with Behavior Trees and Python.
- Knowledge of Agentic AI.
- Experience in visualization.
- Good proficiency in English and Swedish, both spoken and written.
The following qualifications are meritorious:
- Experience working with drones, Behavior Trees (BT), and Python.
- Experience working with conflict-free planning.
- Completed courses similar to Practical Data Visualization and Virtual Reality (TNM093) and Information Visualization (TNM111).
Significant weight will be placed on personal qualities and suitability.
Your Workplace
You will work at the Department of Media and Information Technology at the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

About the Employment
The employment is fixed-term for two months with a workload of 50 percent of full-time, starting as soon as possible.
Employment as a student assistant is regulated in Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance.
