Social Services Administration Hisingen is part of the Social Services in the City of Gothenburg. We are one of four social services administrations. We work purposefully to create a better everyday life for the residents of Hisingen.

We offer support within individual and family care, social emergency services, assistance with addiction issues, and integration matters. We also work with leisure activities and preventive work regarding public health, urban planning, local safety initiatives, and integration issues.

Job Responsibilities

Ung Hisingen is a unit working with young people aged 10–25. The unit includes roles such as Municipal Responsibility for Activities (KAA), youth counselors, and field secretaries. The team also consists of two method supervisors and a unit manager, totaling 30 employees. We are now looking for you who want to work with KAA and Ung Extra.

Municipal Responsibility for Activities (KAA)

KAA means that the municipality, according to the Education Act (Chapter 29, Section 9), has an obligation to contact and regularly follow up with young people aged 16–19 who are not attending upper secondary school or have not obtained a high school diploma upon leaving. In Gothenburg, KAA work is conducted in collaboration between the Education Administration/UBF and the Social Services Administrations/SF. Since KAA has been co-organized between SF and UBF, the municipality has chosen to view KAA as part of the preventive and active social work carried out in the municipality.

SF's KAA should work operationally together with case handlers from UBF, primarily with young people in the KAA target group who are further away from studies or other employment and may be at risk of becoming trapped in long-term exclusion. It is then important to build a relationship and alliance with the young person, and sometimes with their parents, to work motivationally. Receiving support from KAA is voluntary.

If needed, the young person's life situation is mapped out based on the study dropout, identifying protective and risk factors, as well as the need for support regarding employment and/or other support. The young person is then guided towards existing activities for employment and/or other actors for support within or outside social services. If necessary, KAA collaborates with these actors.

Ung Extra

Ung Extra (formerly Ung Helg) is a paid internship within the City of Gothenburg's operations for young people aged 16–18. The role involves networking, maintaining employer contacts, and creating job opportunities for young people, as well as developing operations together with employers within the framework of Ung Extra. The assignment also includes recruiting and matching young people, administration, support and guidance, leadership, continuous follow-up, and advisory and support conversations regarding employment, studies, and work.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a university degree of at least three years in social work. Experience working with young people, labor market measures, and good knowledge of social services processes are meritorious. As a person, you are responsible, flexible, communicative, structured, and enjoy working in collaboration with others.
