Brottkärrsskolan in Hovås is a modern, newly built school that started its operations in the autumn term of 2011. Nearly 295 students attend Brottkärrsskolan, ranging from preschool class (förskoleklass) to grade 6. At our school, students are divided into three tracks: two tracks for students from preschool class to grade 3, and one track for students in grades 4 to 6.

This autumn, we are looking for a teacher to instruct in Swedish, Mathematics, and Natural Sciences (NO) in grade 4.

Responsibilities

You are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching in your subjects, both individually and in collaboration with your colleagues in your work team. You work to create a safe atmosphere where students feel comfortable exploring and have a desire to learn. You vary teaching methods, forms of expression, and learning environments based on the students' needs. You have a big heart for students and adopt a solution-focused and inclusive approach.

You are part of the grade-level and subject teams, where you collaborate with your colleagues to develop the school's operations. The role includes being a mentor for a grade 4 class. Your work is based on current curricula and steering documents, with a strong focus on sparking curiosity for learning and supporting students' social development. You view documenting students' knowledge development as a natural part of your work.

To give you, as a newly graduated teacher, the best possible start in your career, you will participate in the Basic Education Administration's Teacher Academy introduction program for new graduates. This introduction provides you with a network of other new graduates and targeted activities during your first year as a teacher.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified and licensed teacher with the qualifications to teach Swedish, Mathematics, and Natural Sciences (NO) in grades 4–6. It is an advantage if you are also qualified in Social Studies (SO).

As a person, you are structured, engaged, flexible, and responsible, with a clear focus on the student. You are dedicated to your work, receptive, and have good collaboration skills. We also expect you to be able to prioritize and carry out tasks independently, take initiative, and make quick decisions based on the child's needs.

To thrive with us, you need to be a driven person with a strong work ethic, seeing opportunities in your work. You have a clear solution focus and take responsibility for a correct approach, keeping the student's abilities in mind in both thought and action. You are relational and find it easy to build contact with students, other employees, and guardians.

You are a secure and stable leader in the classroom and exude calmness. You are driven by collaboration and communication with others, with the goal of constantly improving and developing teaching. Clear structure, foresight, endurance, and humor are important parts of succeeding in the job.
