We are now looking for you who want to combine your competence in Swedish with a strong commitment to special education. Other related subjects may also be considered for teaching.

About the Role

As a teacher with us, you will have a varied and meaningful job. You will primarily teach Swedish on our General Course (high school level). The special educational mission runs as a red thread through your entire daily routine. The special educational assignment will account for 30 percent.

Your main tasks:

• Teach Swedish adapted for folk high school.
• Identify pedagogical needs and develop adaptations for participants who need extra support.
• Guide and support teachers and student assistants in special educational matters to create an even more inclusive learning environment.
• Actively participate in the school's resource team (equivalent to student health services).

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is confident in their pedagogical role and passionate about the folk high school's adult education ideals. You have the ability to see the individual, create security in the classroom, and adapt your teaching to different conditions. You should be good at collaborating and thrive in a collaborative learning environment. We would appreciate if you share the values of the labor movement.

Requirements for the position:

• University education with eligibility to teach Swedish (also as a second language, but not a requirement).
• Education in special education (special educator, special needs teacher, or equivalent experience assessed as comparable).
• Experience working with adult education, folk high schools, or target groups with varied educational backgrounds.

Merits:

• Experience with neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPD) and compensatory aids.
• Experience working with language development in all subjects.

Personal qualities: You are flexible, relationship-building, and have good collaboration skills. Since the folk high school relies heavily on team- and theme-based work, you enjoy close collaboration with both teacher colleagues, counselors, and assistants.
