Vättleskolan is located in northeast Gothenburg, near the beautiful nature area of Vättlefjäll. The school for grades 4–9 and special needs school grades 4–9, together with Gunnaredsskolan F-3 and Rannebergsskolan F-3 and special needs school grades 1–3, are part of School Area 13 in the Northeast.

The area is characterized by great diversity and strong cohesion between the schools.

At Vättleskolan, we currently have approximately 290 students and 50 staff members who meet the students every day.

Responsibilities

As a leisure-time center teacher (fritidshem), you contribute to creating a meaningful, stimulating, and developmental activity for students during the school day. You are responsible for planning, implementing, and developing the teaching, as well as recess activities for students in grades 4–6, based on current guidelines.

In this role, you actively work on safety, values, and study environment.

You participate in the school's safety group, work preventively against harassment and conflicts, and are responsible for DF-respons, the school's tool for handling harassment. Identifying students who are lonely or in need of support, as well as collaborating with the student health service and external actors, is an important part of the job. You also work with the student council in consultation with teachers.

In the role of leisure-time center teacher, you develop a broad network at the school as you follow the students throughout the day. In addition to teachers and students, you have contact with parents and other staff. You are a key function who sees the whole student and becomes an important link in the collaboration between the student, home, and school.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated and licensed as a leisure-time center teacher. It is meritorious if you have experience working in a socioeconomically disadvantaged area.

It is important to us that you are a secure and clear adult role model who creates calm in the activity. You have relational leadership skills and build relationships with students. You have a low-affective and positive approach to everyone you meet, enjoy collaborating, are flexible, solution-oriented, and have a strong commitment to the students.

Newly graduated teachers will participate in the Basic Education Administration's Teacher Academy introduction program. This gives you a network with other newly graduated teachers and targeted activities during your first year.
