Job Responsibilities

Here, nursing assistants work in teams, closely together with nurses, to provide the best care for our acutely ill and injured patients. With us, every team member is crucial for patient safety in life-critical moments. We perform necessary emergency treatment and examination of the patient, after which decisions are made regarding admission to a ward, follow-up via a health center/clinic, or return home. Because we perform a wide range of interventions for our patients, you as an employee will learn something new every day.

The Emergency Clinic is the center of action! The patients who come here are people of all ages, with different backgrounds and medical conditions. In surgery and orthopedics, we also receive children, which adds further variety to the work. At the emergency department, your role is central in the meeting with the patients.

As a nursing assistant with us, you will among other things perform general nursing care for the patients, bedsores prevention/turning, take blood samples and ECGs, and participate in triage. You will also work in the emergency department's reception where you become the patients' very first contact during their visit to the emergency. We collaborate with other hospital clinics and care wards to provide the patients with the best possible care.

As a nursing assistant at the emergency department, you will receive continuous training, including in CPR and casting, as well as for work in the emergency room. Our new employees are given a thorough and individually adapted introduction together with a supervisor/mentor. If you are newly hired by Region Kronoberg, you will also receive a region-wide introduction.

Qualifications

For this position, we are looking for you who are trained as a nursing assistant/care assistant. If you have gained experience in the profession, it is considered an advantage, as is experience from hospital care or emergency healthcare. You naturally work with the patient in focus, thrive best in a busy environment, and think that challenges are the spice of life at work.
