Registered Pharmacist for the Medicines Unit, Region Kronoberg

Currently, approximately 35 people work at the Medicines Unit. The majority of us are pharmacists, but we also employ professionals from other categories.

Our mission is to promote safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication use and supply, as well as to serve as an operational and strategic support for healthcare activities. Organizationally, we are placed under hospital care, and geographically, we are located at the hospital in Växjö, but our mandate covers the entire Kronoberg County.

The tasks for the Medicines Unit fall within three main processes: medication supply, medication use, and healthcare-proximate medication support.

Within these processes, we work with, among other things, the hospital pharmacy function with self-managed supply, preparation of cytostatics and radiopharmaceuticals, infusion trolleys, medication services, and maintenance of medication dispensing machines, emergency stock, participation in the medical committee/medicines committee, medication recommendations, information and education, follow-up and analysis of medication use, medication reviews, clinical pharmacy, ward preparation, referrals/medication questions, and patient education.

Job Responsibilities

The responsibilities will primarily be within medication supply. Employment may be relevant at both our hospitals in Växjö and Ljungby.

Qualifications

The position requires that you are a registered pharmacist, and it is meritorious if you have preparation authorization.

You are proactive, responsible, structured, and flexible, and have an easy time collaborating with others. You have very good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities, and after introduction and training, you should be able to work independently.
