The Emergency Department – The Center of Action

Here, nurses work in teams together with assistant nurses to provide the best care for acutely ill and injured patients. As support, there is always a lead nurse and close collaboration with doctors. Here, every team member is crucial for patient safety in life-or-death moments. We perform a wide variety of interventions for our patients, which means that as an employee, you learn something new every day. Job Responsibilities

Patients coming to the emergency department are adults of all ages, with different backgrounds and medical conditions. In surgery and orthopedics, we also receive children, which adds further variety to the work. At the emergency department, your role is central in the meeting with patients. Here, prioritizations may need to be made immediately, and we truly make a difference for people when every second counts. The variety of patients and the pace mean that we often need to prioritize and adapt to new conditions.

Here, checks, assessments, and interventions required during the patient's care period are performed. We also collaborate with other departments and wards within hospital care.

We are proud of our employees and strive for continuous competence development. Here, you can receive, among other things:

• AMLS (Advanced Medical Life Support) to identify, treat, and manage acutely ill patients.
• ATSS (Acute Trauma Nursing for Nurses) with a focus on care during the first hour after trauma.
• A-CPR, advanced training to S-CPR.
• X-ray Training which includes extended knowledge regarding examination of extremities to independently write X-ray referrals in case of suspected fractures.

As a new employee at our emergency department, you will receive a thorough individualized introduction and a mentor. If you are hired by Region Kronoberg, you will also receive a region-wide introduction. For further variety and competence development, there is an opportunity for joint service on the acute care ward.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse. If you already have experience from emergency and/or hospital care, it is an advantage.

• Working Hours: Schedule. Rotating shifts according to schedule. Rotating shifts mean that you work both day and evening and night.
