Occupational Therapist at the Pain Unit – Psychiatry, Rehab and Hab
At Region Kronoberg, we work to ensure that people in the county can live a safe and sustainable life. Every day, we meet the residents of Kronoberg in healthcare, public transport, and in the work with the county's development. Here, ideas are valued, there are great opportunities for development, and a welcoming, open work climate characterized by kindness.
Welcome to the business area of Psychiatry, Rehab and Hab! Our mission is to offer all residents of Kronoberg County specialized psychiatric care, rehabilitation, and habilitation. Care should be provided in collaboration with other actors within and outside Region Kronoberg, with a cohesive care chain and patient participation in focus. We want to create good conditions for our patients to receive the right care and treatment with the best possible competence.
The team at the Pain Unit consists of twelve employees who work together in bright, airy, and nature-adjacent premises with access to a modern staff gym – an environment that contributes to both well-being and comfort. In the interdisciplinary collaboration, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, nurses, doctors, and care administrators come together to jointly offer specialized multimodal rehabilitation with the patient's needs at the center.
We are now looking for two occupational therapists with different focuses – one traditional role and one where the assignment, in addition to regular patient work, also includes improvement and process work. If you are interested in the latter position, you can find it here:
1 position(s).
Job Description
As an occupational therapist with us, you will become an important part of an engaged team that, together with the patient, creates opportunities for a more meaningful and balanced everyday life. You follow the patient through the entire rehabilitation process and map their activity patterns and abilities as a natural part of the team's joint assessment.
By working with daily structure, activity balance, and ergonomics, you help the patient find ways of working and routines that strengthen their well-being. The role also includes giving lectures and leading groups in smaller formats, where you have the opportunity to inspire and support participants in their rehabilitation.
Together with the patient and the team, you set goals for the rehabilitation period and follow up on them to ensure that every step is meaningful and forward-looking.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist with a few years of experience in the profession and who want to become part of an engaged, interdisciplinary team where collaboration is a natural foundation. You will belong to an experienced team that works from a biopsychosocial pain perspective, where you contribute particularly with a holistic view and activity focus. Together, we create an environment where you quickly feel involved, valuable, and safe to grow in your role.
We believe that you have a non-hierarchical approach, are friendly, solution-focused, and have the patient's best interests as your guiding star. You are emotionally stable and handle stress and challenges in a constructive way, which contributes to a calm, positive, and secure work climate even when the pace is high.
We also welcome your creativity and curiosity to dare to think new thoughts, see opportunities where others see obstacles, and gladly contribute ideas that develop both working methods and operations.
Personal suitability is given great weight.
Experience of group activities, ergonomics, and work with patients with chronic pain or psychiatric issues is meritorious but not a requirement. The most important thing is your engagement and your desire to make a difference.
In connection with the recruitment, we require extracts from the criminal and suspicion register. Therefore, please include your complete personal identity number in your application.
Due to the summer period, the application time is extended. Selection and feedback will begin in weeks 34–35. Interviews will be held on 26/8, 28/8 & 31/8.
