SiS Youth Home Johannisberg has operations in Kalix and in Boden (unit Sävastgården).

Job Description

SiS Youth Home Johannisberg consists of two units, one in Kalix and one in Boden. In total, the institution has seven wards. Five wards with 32 places in Kalix and two wards with 12 places in Sävast. Johannisberg has approximately 150 permanent employees in various professional categories. The institution's mission is to care for and assess boys and girls according to the Youth Care Act (LVU) and the Care of Young Persons Act (LSU).

The school within SiS is governed largely by the same laws and regulations as the rest of the school world and is very important for the future of the taken-into-care young people. Therefore, SiS in general and Johannisberg in particular are investing in developing school activities.

All school-age young people are offered education according to SiS's time plan, and non-school-age young people receive education according to their individual study plans.

The Swedish Schools Inspectorate has stated that Johannisberg Youth Home/Grytna School conducts very good and high-quality education. The regular student surveys also show a very satisfied student group. In addition, we offer a calm working environment where you, as a teacher, have time for each student. You also have time to adapt the teaching so that as many students as possible succeed in their studies. The work (lessons, preparation, follow-up, meetings, etc.) always takes place during daytime hours, i.e., no evening or weekend work. We conduct our work in a newly built (2022) adapted school building.

Qualifications

We are looking for a high school teacher or primary/lower secondary school teacher in social science subjects for teaching at the primary/lower secondary level and on IM (Individual Study Plan). The employment level is 100%.

In addition to formal competence, you must be flexible and have broad social competence.

We also see that you are a good and secure role model for our young people. Therefore, we place great importance on personal suitability. It is important to have good cooperation skills with other professional groups (treatment assistants, treatment secretaries, psychologists, etc.) to achieve a holistic approach in treatment/education.

Within certain frameworks, you plan not only the content of the lessons but also when and to what extent. Everything with the starting point of the student's best interest and their needs and abilities/prerequisites.

Responsibilities:

According to current research, education is the most important protective factor for our target group. Interest in studies among our students has increased significantly in recent years, especially in social science subjects. Therefore, we are looking for you who want to work with our special and very important mission.

The collegium in Kalix currently consists of nine teachers, a special educator, and a study and career counselor. The work team works flexibly and supportively towards each other to create a good working environment and study environment. In addition, it may involve, together with a colleague, being a mentor for seven young people. This means conducting mentor meetings and being responsible for the overall information regarding how the studies are progressing for the young people.
