We are looking for an Environmental and Sustainability Strategist

As an Environmental and Sustainability Strategist, you will work in a supportive role and in close collaboration with the company's various operations. You will plan, coordinate, develop, and follow up on the company's work within the environmental and sustainability areas. You will be part of the Quality and Sustainability department, which consists of three employees, and you will report to the Quality Manager.

We are certified in Quality (ISO 9001), Environment (ISO 14001), and Occupational Health and Safety (ISO 45001). You will play a significant role in managing and developing the company's environmental management system.

Your main responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the company's environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001, ensuring it remains integrated with other management systems.
  • Coordinate the company's joint environmental forum and support the organization with cross-company environmental issues, such as permits, laws, and other requirements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the company's sustainability report and climate accounting.
  • Be responsible for reporting sustainability data to Borås Municipality.
  • Coordinate the company's work on chemical management and serve as the system owner and support provider for the company's chemical management system (Chemgroup).
  • Coordinate the company's work on emergency plans and compliance with the Seveso directive.
  • In collaboration with the department, coordinate the company's compliance work, including support and system responsibility for the compliance tool (Notisum).
  • Drive investigations and projects within the environmental area as needed.
  • Participate in various networks and collaboration forums, and stay updated on current trends, legislation, etc., within the environmental and sustainability fields.

Your background and personal qualities

You have a university degree in a field relevant to the position, or other education/experience that we consider equivalent. You also have several years of work experience in environmental and sustainability work, such as with environmental management systems, sustainability reporting, permit issues, and authority communication, preferably in a coordinating role. It is an advantage if you are trained as an internal auditor, at least in environmental matters (ISO 14001), but preferably in several standards.

To succeed in the role, you have good project management skills and can coordinate different forums and groups. You are accustomed to developing and implementing cross-business methods and processes. It is important that you communicate and collaborate well, but also that you dare to challenge your surroundings – of course, with respect and integrity. You need to be good at seeing both details and the big picture/context to plan and ensure that focus is placed on what is important, both in the short and long term.

As a person, you are structured and meticulous, but also analytical, flexible, and innovative. You have a strong desire to both develop and be developed, and you naturally have a burning interest in environmental and sustainability issues.

For this role, a B driver's license is required, as well as the ability to express yourself well in both speech and writing in Swedish and English. You work comfortably with the most common programs/applications in the Office package and preferably have previous experience with system administration.

The position is a permanent full-time employment (probationary period may apply) starting as soon as possible or according to agreement.
