The Primary School Administration in Borås Municipality is now launching a fourth unit for students in adapted primary school: Adapted Primary School Byttorp. We started our operations in the spring semester of 2026 and are located in the same beautiful premises as Byttorp School F-6.

Adapted Primary School welcomes students in grades 1–9 from all over Borås. We strive to provide our students with an educational and motivating school experience. Well-structured teaching and great confidence in the students' inherent will and ability to learn are our starting points. The school also includes an after-school center (fritidshem/KTS) for all students.

You will work at our after-school center at Adapted Primary School Byttorp, where we have students from grades 1–9. At Adapted Primary School Byttorp, we strive for differentiated teaching that allows all students to succeed in their learning. This places demands on you as a teacher to meet the students with a sensitive, structured, and low-affective approach.

You will be responsible for ensuring that approximately 20 students at the after-school center receive meaningful care before and after school, as well as during holidays. You share this responsibility with another colleague and with resources in the form of student assistants, support teachers, and activation pedagogues.

Together with your colleagues in the work team, you will drive and develop the work so that it benefits all students. You establish clear goals and plan teaching systematically, organized, and methodically. You ensure that the work is completed and follow up on results as a natural part of your work.

The applicant is a certified preschool teacher or a certified teacher with the eligibility to teach in after-school centers. You have an interest in children who need special support. Previous experience working in adapted primary schools or with children who need special support is advantageous.

You have knowledge and work experience regarding intellectual disabilities as well as experience with children with neuropsychiatric functional variations. Knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is advantageous. You are well-versed in the curriculum and other regulatory documents.

Your approach is that children do right if they can, and you adapt your interaction and communication to create conditions for students to interpret different situations and contexts. As a person, you are calm, meet students with a low-affective approach, and encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement. You have good collaboration skills and are adept at creating and maintaining good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. In addition to your education, we value an attitude of willingness to learn new things and to explore what is not always visible.
