About the workplace
Älvgymnasiet is a newly established municipal upper secondary school in Ale Municipality that opened in autumn 2025. Today, we offer four national programs as well as introductory programs, and we are facing continued expansion of our operations.
The school is located in newly renovated and modern facilities in Alafors. For our programs in industrial technology as well as construction and civil engineering, there are workshop facilities in Nol.

Job Description
Älvgymnasiet is now looking for an engaged employee with primary placement within the Industrial Technology program with a focus on welding. The program is established at the school, and we are looking for you who, together with colleagues, want to continue developing the education for students aiming for a future in the industrial sector.
The position includes teaching, mentoring, and working to create good relationships with students, guardians, and industry representatives. Together with the work team, you plan, implement, and further develop the education with a focus on quality, security, and the students' employability.
You will have an important role in the collaboration between school and working life. The assignment may include work as an APL (Workplace-based Learning) coordinator for both the Industrial Technology program and the Construction and Civil Engineering program. This means responsibility for creating and developing contacts with local companies and businesses, securing APL placements, and following up on students' APL and development.
We would appreciate it if you were open to teaching or supervising students also within the Child and Youth Care program or other operationally close areas where your experience and competence can contribute to the students' development.
You will become an active part of the school's development work and are expected to contribute to developing the education in close collaboration with business and the local community.
Qualifications
You are a certified vocational teacher in industrial technology or have acquired equivalent competence through long and relevant experience in the industry. We are looking for you who have knowledge of the industrial or construction sector and have a strong commitment to young people's learning and development.
It is an advantage if you have:
- experience of teaching in upper secondary school, adult education, or workplace-based learning,
- experience working with students in need of extra adjustments,
- experience of collaboration with business and local companies,
- knowledge of APL coordination or internship acquisition,
- professional background in industrial technology, welding, or the construction sector.
We particularly value local knowledge and an established network within the local business community, as the position involves close cooperation with companies and businesses in the region.
As a person, you are secure, flexible, and relationship-building. You have good teamwork skills and enjoy working both independently and together with colleagues. You are clear in your leadership and have the ability to motivate and support students with different backgrounds and different prerequisites.
You use digital tools as a natural part of both teaching and administration and want to contribute to developing the operations based on the school's goals and steering documents. We place great importance on personal suitability.
