Do you want to make a difference early on, before problems become too big? Do you want a unique role where you meet young people in their own environment and adapt your support to their unique needs? Do you believe, like us, that close collaboration between schools, social services, and families is the key to creating security and the right support at the right time?

We can then offer you an important, challenging, and meaningful job as a Child and Youth Therapist within the preventive work and school social team. You will be met with a welcoming work environment, short decision-making paths, and a municipality where quality of life is in focus.

About the job

With us, you will have an important role in strengthening the upbringing conditions for children and young people through preventive work, relationship-building interventions, and close collaboration between schools, social services, and other actors. As a Child and Youth Therapist, you work preventively and supportively with children and young people who risk falling into difficulties, for example due to mental health issues, norm-breaking behavior, or psychosocial problems.

The work is very varied and characterized by high accessibility, flexibility, and relationship-building interventions where you meet the child or young person in the environment where the needs and conditions exist. You base your work on implementation plans that you create together with the family, and you actively work to motivate change and support the young person in completing ongoing interventions. If necessary, you also guide them to other relevant contacts within, for example, healthcare or schools. The position also includes documentation in our journal system.

This position also offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future, as you will become an important part of the launch and development of the municipality's entirely new school social team. You will work closely with schools, cultural and leisure activities, and other collaboration partners to identify needs early and create the right support at the right time.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree in social work or another education assessed by the employer as equivalent, as well as previous experience working with children, young people, and families. It is an advantage if you have experience with treatment, network work, or experience with young people exhibiting norm-breaking behavior. Since the position involves driving, a valid driver's license (Category B) is required.

As a person, you are relationship-building and have a natural ability to build secure alliances with both young people and their families. You are structured and goal-oriented in your approach, but at the same time flexible when it comes to adapting methods and working hours to the situation. You are proactive and act as soon as you notice signs of negative development in a young person, while also taking the initiative to drive the operations forward. You have a high ability to work independently, but also possess excellent collaboration skills, as the role relies on close interaction with colleagues and schools. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
