Welcome to become part of our growing municipality and to work with us to provide our residents with even better service.

We offer an attractive workplace that gives you great opportunities to develop in your professional role. Our goal is for everyone to thrive and grow throughout their entire career. We also want to develop as an employer and actively work to make the best use of your knowledge and engagement. We appreciate and encourage participation from everyone.

Uddevalla Municipality is a beautiful seaside location in the heart of Bohuslän. We believe in an open and positive interaction between the municipality, education, business, and culture.

We hope you will enjoy working with us!

About the workplace

Lane-Ryrs School has 130 students in grades F–6 (preschool class to grade 6) and after-school care. The school is located approximately 1 mile northeast of Uddevalla. We are a small, modern school in the middle of nature, with experienced staff, nice facilities, and a large, inspiring schoolyard. We are a school with well-adapted premises that give both the school and the after-school care great opportunities to create a varied and creative environment.

We see the importance of developing together with the students. It is in our smaller work teams that collegial learning, planning, and follow-up take place. We need each other and therefore engage in different tasks throughout the day. Relationships and treatment are important to us. At our school, students have a lot of staff around them who know them well. We work to develop shared responsibility and a holistic view, which makes us better at adapting the activities to the needs of all students.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a special needs educator who wants to work part-time at a small school. You will work together with the student health team and the school staff with students who need special support. You will work closely collegially with teachers and other school staff to plan, promote, and create high-quality teaching that is based on students' full potential for learning. You will keep up to date with new findings and research within special needs education and share the scientific basis and your proven experience. You are expected to contribute actively to the joint work of supporting students in need of extra adjustments and special support, by consulting on student cases, mentoring educators, providing support during assessments and pedagogical investigations. As a special needs educator at Lane-Ryrs School, you share overall responsibility from preschool class to grade 6.

The position as a special needs educator is 50%, but it can potentially be combined with other duties to achieve a higher percentage of employment. Take the chance to develop with us!

Qualifications

  • Trained special needs educator or special teacher.
  • Teaching license with eligibility to teach in primary school, preferably for younger ages.
  • Knowledge and experience in assessing pedagogical needs, documenting support measures, and conducting pedagogical assessments and action plans is desirable.
  • Very good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
  • Curiosity and desire to learn and develop together with colleagues.
