Statens musikverk (The Swedish National Agency for Cultural Heritage in Music) is a cultural heritage authority under the Ministry of Culture. Through our operations, we collect, preserve, and tell the stories of the cultural heritage of music, theatre, and dance. The Agency includes the Performing Arts Museum, the Music and Theatre Library, the Swedish Ballad Archive, Caprice Music, and the Electronic Music Studio (EMS).

Statens musikverk is now seeking a Communications Specialist for a fixed-term project focused on making cultural heritage accessible to a wider audience through film, digital communication, and public content.

The Authority is currently undergoing a special initiative related to the digitalization and accessibility of cultural heritage. As part of this work, we are looking for a Communications Specialist for a fixed-term project within the communications team. The project aims to highlight parts of the Authority's collections that rarely or never reach the public, as well as to strengthen knowledge about the Authority's collections and activities.

Responsibilities

The role includes, among other things:

• producing short films and digital content
• creating content for social media and the web
• working with storytelling and making collection materials accessible
• contributing to the development of public content regarding cultural heritage
• potentially developing materials aimed at schools and young audiences

The work is carried out in close dialogue with the communications team and in collaboration with the Authority's digitalization coordinator.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• post-secondary education in communication, media, film, journalism, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
• experience working with social media and digital communication
• experience in basic film production and/or video editing
• good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish
• good digital competence and familiarity with working in publishing tools

It is an advantage if you have experience with:

• work within the cultural sector, museums, or public operations
• making cultural heritage or collection materials accessible
• Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent tools

We are looking for someone who is creative, self-motivated, and has a talent for collaboration. You enjoy turning ideas into concrete content and thrive working both independently and together with others.

Employment

Fixed-term employment from 2026-09-01 to 2026-12-31 with a scope of 100%.

The Authority's main workplaces are located at Sibyllegatan 2 and Tegeluddsvägen 100. You will be organizationally placed within the communications team.
