We are looking for a Project Manager for Trafikverket (Swedish Transport Administration).

This is a consultancy assignment with a choice of location between Jönköping and Linköping. The position is full-time.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork skills.

The Assignment

In this role, you will lead and drive railway projects from the construction phase through to implementation and completion. You will be responsible for planning, steering, follow-up, and delivery according to Trafikverket's governing documents, regulations, and contractual terms. The work is carried out in close collaboration with project engineers, specialists, consultants, and contractors, and may involve several parallel projects.

Responsibilities

• Create and follow up on schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
• Plan and conduct project meetings.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor technical documentation, deliveries, and deviations.
• Report project status regarding time, cost, and content.
• Develop and quality-assure decision-making materials.
• Participate in procurement and contract follow-up.
• Apply Trafikverket's project model and document control.
• Lead, plan, coordinate, and follow up assigned projects within the construction and production phases.
• Work in close collaboration with Trafikverket's project organization.

Requirements (Mandatory)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Swedish.
• Experience working in project groups where coordination was key.
• Valid B-class driver's license.
• At least three (3) years of documented experience as a Project Manager for railway projects within general railway infrastructure. You must have had independent responsibility for planning, steering, follow-up, and delivery of projects or clearly defined project parts. The experience must relate to design and/or construction phases and must not be older than 20 years. Parallel assignments cannot be counted twice in terms of time.
• Knowledge of laws, regulations, standards, and directives within the relevant field.
• You have completed BAS-A (Construction Environment Coordinator) training.
• At least three years of experience in a leadership role within railway projects (e.g., Project Manager, Site Manager), where you independently managed planning, steering, follow-up, and delivery. Experience must include preparation of construction documents or work in the production phase in at least two of the following areas: switch/track replacement or electrification/overhead line replacement. The experience must cover at least 12 consecutive months or 18 months total per assignment, on projects with a total budget of at least 100 MSEK, and be no older than 20 years. Purely specialist or administrative support roles without independent responsibility for planning and follow-up are not accepted.
• You have completed training to function as the Client's Construction Environment Coordinator, BAS-P and BAS-U. The training must not be older than five (5) years.

Merits

• Experience in independently working with scheduling, economic follow-up (budget, actuals, and forecasts), and risk management in railway projects.
• Experience working according to established project models, such as XLPM, PROPS, PPS, PRINCE2, or equivalent.
• Experience working in the construction or production phase of railway projects.
• Experience coordinating between multiple technical disciplines (BEST) in railway projects.
