At Alexandraskolan, we believe in a holistic perspective where aesthetic forms of expression are the cornerstones of good learning. We are now looking for you who are a certified music teacher, with experience working with lower and middle school grades, and who want to take full responsibility for our music subject on Mondays. With us, you become a key person who spreads energy and creates inclusive music education for our students in grades F–6.

Do you want to work full-time? For those with a qualification as a leisure center teacher, there is a fantastic opportunity to expand the position to 100%. You will then work with music on Mondays (20%) and spend the remaining 80% of the week at our leisure center and in the school as a combined leisure pedagogue and student assistant.

Your assignment with us. The music teaching is 20%, and the working time for this subject is entirely scheduled for Mondays. You plan, conduct, and evaluate the music teaching for all classes in the school (F–6) based on the Swedish National Agency for Education's guidelines.

In the role of music teacher, you will:

• Create varied and enjoyable teaching that motivates all students, regardless of prior knowledge, to dare to sing, play, and create music.
• Work independently to drive the subject forward, while maintaining close collaboration and coordination with class teachers and school leadership.
• See and uplift every individual in the small group, and adapt activities so that everyone feels safe and included.

If you take the combined position full-time, you step into the role of leisure pedagogue and student assistant from Tuesday to Friday, where you support the students during the school day and create a meaningful and pedagogical leisure activity program.

Who are you? We are looking for a secure, positive, and structured pedagogue who has the ability to quickly establish good relationships with the children. Since you lead the music subject on your own on Mondays, it is important that you are driven, take initiative, and are comfortable with a large independent responsibility.

• Requirements: Teaching certification with eligibility to teach music in the earlier years of compulsory school (F–6).
• Experience: You have documented experience working with children in lower and middle school grades.
• For the full-time alternative, you also need: Education as a leisure center teacher / leisure pedagogue.
• Personal qualities: You have a clear and warm leadership style, spread musical energy, and have good communication skills in contact with colleagues and guardians.
• Merits: Experience with or interest in Montessori pedagogy is a big plus, as it inspires our daily operations.

Montessoriskolan Alexandra is an independent and personal primary school in Gothenburg with approximately 60 students in grades F–6 and an associated leisure center. We are run by a non-profit foundation – here every resource goes entirely to the students' best interests and the community on the schoolyard.
