Job Description

The position involves working as a native language teacher in the municipality's primary schools and at the reception unit for newly arrived students at the Language Centre. Study guidance takes place in close collaboration with the school's or reception unit's teachers and is a way for the student to progress with the Swedish language while the student's previous subject knowledge is utilized.

You will be part of a work team with other native language teachers and study guides in several languages, as well as in close collaboration with the reception unit's staff. You will also work closely with primary school educators at the various units.

The position may include administrative tasks related to students and school work, as well as coordinating contacts with, among others, guardians, school staff, and authorities.

Start date: According to agreement, temporary position for the school year 26/27.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a teacher's degree. You should have very good knowledge of Amharic; you also need to have good knowledge of Swedish, and it is an advantage if you have knowledge of English. You can express yourself clearly in both speech and writing. You have experience working with the reception of newly arrived students, have pedagogical knowledge and experience, and are accustomed to pedagogical work with children and students in the Swedish school system. You are flexible, take initiative, and can adapt your attitude and actions to the situation. You have good teamwork skills, are independent, and goal-oriented. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

You need to be able to move between different units in your work, and you may need to use your own car for the position.
