AKG Sweden is looking for an engaged and creative Occupational Therapist with visual impairment expertise! Our vision is to be a leading provider of services that support, strengthen, and motivate people to enter the workforce or pursue studies. As part of the Angus Knight Group, AKG Sweden is in an exciting phase of development. After winning the tender for Vocational Introduction for People with Visual Impairments, we are now looking for colleagues who have the competence, drive, and curiosity to deliver this excellent service together with us!
The Vocational Introduction for People with Visual Impairments consists of various preparatory measures, divided into four steps over approximately 1–1.5 years. During this time, our participants will engage in individually suitable activities that help them achieve their goal of obtaining employment or participating in education that leads to work.
Your Profile We are looking for someone who is independent, driven, and engaged with other people. The target group is very broad, which places high demands on you and your colleagues to adapt content and structure of our activities at an individual level. Much of your work will focus on strengthening our participants' self-esteem, self-confidence, and motivation. Therefore, it is essential that you have experience interacting with people with visual impairments and are driven by engaging and helping others grow – without taking over their responsibilities. This is an important balance for us at AKG Sweden!
You are fundamentally positive and unpretentious, with a good understanding of your own needs to thrive and succeed in your work. You enjoy testing different paths and methods, and you are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
The Role of Occupational Therapist with Visual Impairment Expertise In addition to educating, supporting, coaching, and motivating our participants, you always keep the goal in sight – with a clear mandate to find a suitable path for the individual that leads toward work or studies. This requires a highly individualized approach. The role also involves some administration and documentation in our own and the client's systems.
At AKG Sweden, we work in teams. In the role of Occupational Therapist with Visual Impairment Expertise, you will work together with the local team and the Quality Manager to ensure that we deliver a service we are proud of through our internal processes. You will be a key person in the ongoing development work.
We value the qualities that diversity and gender balance bring to the business and therefore welcome applicants with different backgrounds and life experiences.
Competency Requirements
- Trained Occupational Therapist
- At least one (1) year of experience working (at least 50% full-time) with the target group of people with visual impairments
- Knowledge of visual impairments and their consequences
- Knowledge of compensatory methods and assistive devices for people with visual impairments
- Experience in training individuals in magnification and screen-reading programs related to the Office suite
Are YOU the one we are looking for? Please submit your application as soon as possible, as we may fill the position before the final application deadline.
We offer flexible and stimulating work in an innovative organization where both the pace and the ceiling are high.
Employment extent: Full-time/part-time by agreement.
Start date: We plan to fill this role in June 2026, but we will meet candidates continuously, so the position may be filled earlier.
We look forward to receiving your application!
