Engelbrektskolan consists of two units, covering preschool class to grade 9. Approximately 350 students attend grades 7–9. Older and younger students meet naturally in shared spaces such as the cafeteria, auditorium, library, and gymnasium.

The school has a clear focus on student learning and high expectations for both students' abilities and staff efforts to ensure student success. The school culture is characterized by high ambitions, professionalism, and professional pride. The school has a stable staff group consisting of competent, engaged, and certified teachers. We have a full and well-functioning student health team. The school is centrally located in Borås, making it easy to commute via public transport.

In this position, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on music education for grades 7–9 at Engelbrektskolan. The role also includes mentorship. The music education is organized so that you teach students in grades 7 and 9.

You are expected to develop your own teaching while contributing to the school's joint development work. You are part of both the working team and the subject team, where you work together for the students' academic and social development.

As a music teacher at Engelbrektskolan, you work in a well-equipped music room shared with the school's music teachers for grades F–6. You are also responsible for musical performances at graduations and other school events.

Music teaching accounts for 60% of the position. The remaining part is tailored to your qualifications, competence, and the school's needs. If you are qualified in additional subjects, there is an opportunity to combine the position with teaching in those areas. Otherwise, you will serve as a valuable resource in the school's other teaching and support work based on operational needs.

As a candidate, you are a certified teacher with the qualification to teach music in grades 7–9.

You are an engaged teacher skilled at building trusting and lasting relationships with your students. You are confident in your leadership and have the ability to lead and motivate students while creating a safe and supportive learning environment. You have good collaboration skills and the drive to work with the team to take responsibility for the students' academic and social development. You are motivated by developing methods and approaches that benefit all students.
