Job Responsibilities

As a personal assistant, you support the individual in their home, basing your work on the user's needs and wishes. The tasks include, among other things, practical chores, personal care, medical interventions, leisure activities, and social contacts. You are the support the user needs to participate in as many activities as possible and to help ensure they have a good quality of life.

Qualifications

We prefer that you have completed education from the nursing program, the child and youth program, or a 1-year personal assistant course. Applicants with other education or experience that the employer deems equivalent may also be considered. You must have good knowledge of Swedish, both written and spoken. The work should be characterized by a pedagogical approach to support the user in maintaining their skills as much as possible. It is important that you feel secure in your professional role and can act professionally. We also value that you are social, responsive, and proactive in activities with the user. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

The work as a personal assistant requires good physical fitness in terms of strength, stamina, and mobility. Since the job requires documentation, good computer skills are desirable. We prefer that you have a B-driving license and access to a car.

More about the positions

2 permanent positions with employment levels of 87.88% and 89.26%. Working hours are scheduled during days, evenings, and weekends. Start date: ASAP.

Full-time employment may be offered. You would primarily work on this case but might need to work hours on other cases/operations where there is a need. This assumes you can travel by your own car to the temporary workplace. Travel compensation is provided according to the agreement for work-related travel.

The Case

We are looking for two personal assistants for an elderly man living in Öjebyn. He needs support and guidance in daily life with most chores. A few days a week, he attends his day activity program. He enjoys traveling by car.

As an assistant, you should be calm and confident, consistent and clear in your professional role, and able to take initiative and make decisions, as you work alone for most of the working hours. Experience with low-affective handling is meritorious.
