Description

Bjurslättsskolan is now seeking three teachers for grade 4, teaching Swedish, Mathematics, English, Social Studies (SO), Natural Sciences (NO), and Technology. This need arises due to one colleague retiring, another moving away, and the expansion of our operations with an additional class. Broad subject qualifications are considered an advantage, and the position includes mentorship duties.

Bjurslättsskolan is located in Kvillebäcken, near Wieselgrensplatsen in central Hisingen, in an expanding neighborhood where the old meets the new. The area is a mixed socioeconomic neighborhood surrounding the school. Our school serves students from preschool class to grade 6, as well as special education and after-school care. Approximately 600 students attend the school, and around 100 staff members work there. The school has one principal and three deputy principals, each responsible for a specific part of the school: grades F-2, 3-6, and special education. Near the school, there are many beautiful green spaces such as Flunsåsparken and Slättadamm, as well as a very popular football field.

At the school, you will meet a dedicated and positive staff group. Here, there is a fine combination of experience and new perspectives. Some staff members have been part of the operations for a long time, while others are newer to their roles.

Responsibilities

You will, in close collaboration with your colleagues, be responsible for planning, teaching, and follow-up within your subjects. Collaboration is a central part of our working method. The school is organized into grade-based work teams with resource teachers in each team, where the educators together shape the students' school days and create a holistic approach to teaching.

We are looking for an engaged teacher who actively wants to drive teaching and joint knowledge development to enhance the students' learning environment. We view collegial work as important, and together with your colleagues, you will create a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment where students feel eager to learn and develop. The pedagogical activities are based on each student's individual prerequisites and abilities, aiming to both support and challenge them in their continued knowledge acquisition and social development.

We work based on low-affective handling and positive reinforcement, believing that all students want and can reach their goals. As support, there is an present and engaged student health service that contributes to creating the best possible conditions for the students' development and well-being.

To ensure that you, as a newly graduated teacher, get the best possible start in your profession, you will participate in the School Administration's Teacher Academy's introduction program for newly graduated teachers. The introduction gives you, as a new graduate, a network with other newly graduated teachers and targeted activities during your first year as a teacher.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with qualifications to teach Swedish, Mathematics, and at least one additional subject in grades 4-6. It is an advantage to have qualifications in additional subjects. You have good knowledge of the curriculum and other regulatory documents, and use them as a natural foundation in your teaching and pedagogical planning.

You have good digital competence and use digital tools in a thoughtful and pedagogical way to develop, vary, and strengthen students' learning. You actively work with visual support and clarifying pedagogy to create structure, predictability, and accessibility in teaching. You are confident and clear in your leadership and have a good ability to create a structured, inclusive, and positive learning environment where students feel involved and have good conditions to develop as far as possible.
