About the workplace

At Vänerparkens School, students in grades 7–9 attend classes. The school is centrally located and hosts approximately 250 students distributed across nine classes and one special education group for students requiring a smaller setting. The school consists of a main building with classrooms, a cafeteria, administrative offices, and a student café. A glazed walkway connects us to the adjacent building, which houses additional classrooms for theoretical subjects and music. On the school grounds, there is a separate building where students are taught in science subjects (NO) and home economics. Physical education takes place in the sports halls at the Sports Centre.

At Vänerparkens School, we work collaboratively with colleagues, including through subject teams. The school has a student health team consisting of a special education teacher, school counselor, school nurse, study and career counselor (SYV), and principal, with access to a school psychologist, school doctor, and speech therapist. We employ two special needs teachers: one specializing in mathematics and one specializing in reading, writing, and language development. At Vänerparkens School, we actively work to develop students' right to education and accessibility in the learning environment, aiming for every student to reach as far as possible both academically and socially. It is important to us that every student experiences a safe school with the best conditions for learning, and that all work is done in close collaboration with the student and their guardians.
