Your new workplace

The Child and Education Administration is looking for vocational teachers for the Vehicle and Transport program at Västermalms Gymnasium.

Our employees are important to us! Sundsvall Gymnasium/Västermalm is an attractive and centrally located school; currently, over 1,000 students have chosen to complete their upper secondary education with us!

Approximately 190 students are currently studying at our Vehicle program. We are looking for one more vocational teacher for our education. We offer the specializations: trucks and mobile machinery, passenger cars, vehicle damage technology, and painting, as well as the transport specialization. Our ambitions are high! Now we are looking for you who want to help shape tomorrow's Sundsvall and, together with us, continue to develop the Vehicle program at Västermalms Gymnasium. How you contribute in the role of vocational teacher

You will work as a vocational teacher and teach the courses taken by students on the Vehicle and Transport program. Teaching may take place in various courses on the Vehicle program, primarily teaching in year 1. In addition to vocational-specific knowledge, you are a mentor for a group of students and a supervisor for students doing APL (workplace-based learning). Together with your colleagues, you work to create high-quality upper secondary education for the students, both academically and with good values, throughout their three years at Sundsvall Gymnasium. We communicate via V-class and the Google environment. All new employees receive introductory training in our systems.

You actively participate in the school's joint systematic quality work and further education. You work with the students' learning and goal fulfillment in focus. You are skilled at creating and maintaining relationships and you enjoy collaborating with colleagues and school management. You are passionate about developing both the program and your vocational subjects and contribute to a good working environment on the program. In this position, you will be responsible for and conduct teaching in various vocational courses within the vehicle and transport program. The assignment involves collaborating and networking with the industry with a school-related focus. In the operations, you work closely with colleagues in your own work team as well as in consultation with the school's student health team and school management. We have a well-developed collaboration between the school's different professions, which means you will receive good support in the various parts of the work.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for you who have relevant vocational education and experience. Vocational teacher certification is meritorious. Are you skilled in your profession and want to retrain as a teacher – then this is an opportunity for you as we can also offer studies to become a teacher while you work. A current and rich vocational experience that is documented. You are interested in outward-facing work and you find it easy to establish contacts as you will work with different professional groups within the school. You have a great interest in students' learning.
