Welcome to the Björna school intake area – where the future of learning is shaped together!

Here you will meet a warm and engaged school environment spanning four school units in Björna, Gideå, Hemling, and Trehörningsjö. We work with students from preschool class through grade nine, creating a safe and creative place for both students and staff to grow.

We are now looking for an engaged subject teacher in Wood and Metal Craft and Technology for Björnaskolan grades 3-9. Even if you lack teacher certification but have good practical experience and competence in crafts, you are warmly welcome to apply. Experience in carpentry, woodwork, or other craft areas is meritorious and seen as a great asset in the role.

Responsibilities

You will teach wood and metal craft as well as technology at Björnaskolan grades 3-9. Wood craft at Gideåskolan grades 3-6. You are part of the working group for grades 7–9 at Björnaskolan, where we work closely together to develop teaching, plan, and follow up with the curriculum and the municipality's goals as a benchmark.

You will also have the opportunity to take on areas of responsibility based on your competence, interest, and the school's needs – we value initiative and new ideas.

Currently, Björnaskolan is facing an exciting renovation – something that gives you as a new employee a unique opportunity to influence the school's future. You get the chance to contribute ideas on how our new wood/metal craft halls and other teaching environments should be designed to best support modern teaching and student learning.

As a newly hired teacher in Örnsköldsvik Municipality, you will receive an induction program during your first year. You will be assigned a mentor – an experienced colleague with the same subject qualification – who will guide you and provide support in your professional role.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as a primary school teacher with qualifications to teach wood and metal craft as well as technology.

You have a secure and clear leadership in the classroom and meet students with respect and a low-affective approach.
