About Kristinaskolan

All students have the right to a school that gives them the opportunity to develop based on their own prerequisites. SPSM runs schools on behalf of the state. We offer students a learning environment that provides opportunities for participation, learning, and development. We offer meaningful, stimulating, and important pedagogical work at our schools.

Kristinaskolan in Härnösand offers bilingual education in a sign language environment for students from preschool class to grade 10. Our students receive instruction in both Swedish Sign Language and written Swedish. We offer housing for students who cannot commute to school every day.

Kristinaskolan in Härnösand is a special school for students who are deaf or have a hearing impairment. The school's catchment area extends from Gävleborg County in the south to Norrbotten County in the north. For students who cannot commute daily, Kristinaskolan provides student housing.

We offer our students an environment that enables participation and development. Everyone can participate in social interaction, feel a sense of belonging, and develop as individuals in a bilingual education within a sign language environment.

Job Responsibilities

Kristinaskolan is looking for a Teacher in Movement and Drama, focusing on grades F-10 at the special school.

• As a Teacher in Movement and Drama, you are responsible for adapting and designing instruction in accordance with curricula, subject plans, course plans, and knowledge requirements. You work with assessing, documenting, and following up on individual students' needs, development, and learning in Vklass.
• Your work involves both independent tasks and collaborative tasks with other pedagogues.
• You must be able to adapt instruction based on each student's prerequisites, and your lessons should be characterized by clear expectations and a desire to learn. You organize and structure work based on set goals. To succeed in this role, you must build trusting relationships with the students.
• Furthermore, you are a secure pedagogical leader with the ability to critically analyze your own and the team's working methods for continuous development. Together, we work to develop our teaching to create the best possible conditions for our students to achieve their high goals.

Qualifications and Merits

To work as a Teacher in Movement and Drama, you must:

• Have education to teach Movement and Drama, be a trained theater pedagogue, or have another equivalent education.
• Be able to conduct inspiring instruction based on the students' needs and prerequisites, using current regulatory documents, giving the student the best possible conditions to achieve learning goals.
• Be able to choose alternative, adapted, and complementary pedagogical strategies based on the students' individual needs and prerequisites.
• Have good knowledge and skills in communicating in Swedish Sign Language.

Meritorious qualifications:

• Have experience in pedagogical work with children and young people in special schools.
• Have worked with students in need of special support.
• Be able to use IT and media in teaching for student development and learning in groups and individually.
