Description
Bjurslättsskolan is located in Kvillebäcken, near Wieselgrensplatsen in central Hisingen, in an expanding area where old meets new, creating a mixed socio-economic neighborhood around the school. The school has approximately 600 students, and the operations include preschool class, grades 1-6 in special needs education (adapted elementary school) and regular elementary school, as well as after-school care.
Job Responsibilities
As a colleague is retiring, we are looking for you who want to work as a special needs teacher in our adapted elementary school.
You are responsible for teaching, follow-up, and documentation of students' knowledge. The role includes communication with guardians, parent meetings, and development conferences. In the work team, you participate in the analysis and development of teaching and mentor teaching assistants.
Being a teacher for students in grades 4-6 in adapted elementary school is both fun and developmental, and suits you who are confident in your teaching role and enjoy working with a broad perspective on students' abilities. We are looking for an engaged teacher who actively wants to drive teaching and joint knowledge development to enhance the students' learning environment. You see the collegial work as a way to develop teaching through language development and lesson structure. If you are creative, positive, and believe that everyone can learn, you are the right person for us.
Around the student group are teaching special needs teachers, teachers, teaching assistants, and after-school care teachers. Together with colleagues, you will work to develop the operations and contribute to a positive and developmental learning environment for all students. To ensure students reach as far as possible, you need to keep the students and the teaching in focus.
Qualifications
We are looking for a special needs teacher to teach in adapted elementary school. Your basic education is as a teacher, and if you are additionally trained as a special needs teacher with a focus on intellectual disability, your qualifications fit this position. Experience is naturally meritorious, but we are also interested in you who are curious about working in adapted elementary school.

The role involves enabling students to learn together in a context where good relationships are the foundation for success. Experience working with this target group is meritorious, as is knowledge of communication tools such as signs as support, AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), and digital tools. It is also meritorious if you are accustomed to mentoring and modeling for other adults in the work.
You are well acquainted with the steering documents for adapted elementary school, you design long-term strategies for students' learning, and you see goals and assessment as tools for how you can create accessible learning environments for our students.
