About the workplace

Bohusskolan is a comprehensive school (Grades F-9) located in the heart of the Bohus community. The school is a five-minute walk from Bohus center and is easily accessible by public transport. Currently, 620 students attend the school. If you choose to work at Bohusskolan, you will meet dedicated and committed staff daily who approach their students and work with great interest and responsibility.

Responsibilities

At Bohusskolan, we work in grade-level teams while also providing opportunities for planning and development within subject-specific teams. We work with a clear focus on goals and results. As a Crafts teacher, you will teach together with your colleagues in grades 4-9. In addition to teaching your subject in grades 4-9, you contribute to the team's work and help develop cross-curricular approaches.

As a teacher, you conduct modern and creative teaching and find strategies to reach every student, strengthening them in both knowledge development and personal growth. Your duties include planning, implementing, and evaluating the pedagogical work based on the school's guidelines and the students' needs and interests, both individually and together with the grade-level team you belong to.

You collaborate with other school staff to ensure a good learning and working environment for both students and staff, and you participate in the school's development work.

The position includes mentorship duties for grades 7-9.

Qualifications

You are a certified and qualified teacher in Crafts. Qualification in an additional subject is an advantage for this position.

Additionally, you are a team player who enjoys collaboration and a student-democratic approach. You have a good ability to create and maintain relationships with children, young people, and adults, and you understand the importance of meeting students with both "boundaries and hugs"! We are a school in change and must always be an organization where all children are our shared responsibility. A good relationship with students is a stable foundation for effective learning.

You are clear in your leadership in the classroom. You are confident in your professional role towards children, parents, and colleagues, and have a conscious pedagogical approach where student participation and responsibility are a given. You have good analytical skills and constantly strive to develop yourself and learn how to become a better teacher. This is necessary as the world of schools is ever-changing.

You are accustomed to working with the entire process of children's learning; planning, implementation, assessment, evaluation, and you act with curiosity and a desire to learn more about students in need of special support and how schooling can best be made accessible to children. You are well-organized in both your teaching and your documentation.

You have good insight into and knowledge of the school's guidelines and can use them effectively in your daily work. Furthermore, you have good didactic and pedagogical skills and can therefore lead and organize your work to create study peace and a good learning environment for our students throughout their school day.

You are solution-focused, can develop your work based on evidence-based research, and have high expectations of yourself and those around you. You also have good experience and knowledge of working with relevant digital tools.

Other

We place great emphasis on personal suitability and would appreciate it if you have experience working with children in need of special support.
