The Education Unit is one of ten units within the university's common administration, and approximately 100 people work at the unit. The unit is now looking for four student employees during the autumn term of 2026 for work with preventive student healthcare. The student health work at the institution partly includes our procured student healthcare but also a promoting and preventive work within the university, related to student health.
The position is located at the Education Unit, the Section for Student and Educational Support - one of the unit's five sections.
Within the unit, we work based on the vision of creating operational support that creates opportunities. We also work to be an attractive workplace characterized by both structure and culture supporting a sustainable working life. The Education Unit has been HBTQ-certified since 2017 and HBTQI-certified since 2021.
Responsibilities
As a student employee, you should contribute to strengthening Gothenburg University's work with promoting and preventive health work, where the target group is students at undergraduate and advanced levels.
Together with other student employees, you should plan and implement measures to promote student health and contribute to creating long-term sustainable concepts that strengthen students':
- Sense of coherence and thereby reduce loneliness issues
- Study strategies
- Healthy lifestyle habits
- Recovery and balance in student life.
You carry out your work individually and in collaboration with other student employees as well as coordinators at the Section for Student and Educational Support.
The work is performed according to current laws, regulations, and GU's common steering documents. Other personnel administrative tasks may be added, and the tasks may vary during the employment.
Qualifications
For student employees, the rules at https://www.arbetsgivarverket.se/arbetsgivarguiden/tidsbegransade-anstallningar/tidsbegransad-anstallning-som-studentmedarbetare (from April 1, 2014) apply. To be employed as a student employee, you must:
- be engaged in ongoing full-time studies at the university level (Chapter 6, Section 2 of the Higher Education Ordinance)
- have completed approved studies equivalent to at least 60 higher education credits
- not have started a doctoral program
For this employment, we require that you have an ongoing higher education study that can be linked to health, such as public health science, lifestyle issues, and behavioral change.
It is meritorious if you have:
- experience from association life or student engagement
- led groups, held workshops, or organized activities
- experience in project management
The work requires that you have the ability to work individually and in a group, are initiative-taking and have a structured way of working, and that you are service-oriented. The language requirements are fluent Swedish in speech and writing, as well as good knowledge of English in both speech and writing.
As a person, you enjoy performing tasks independently and have the ability to complete them. You perform the tasks with good judgment and care.
In the employment, great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
Interviews will be held on June 16 and June 17 (at premises at Gothenburg University).
Employment
The employment is fixed-term according to the student employee agreement, with a scope of 25%, located at the Section for Student and Educational Support. The employment lasts until 2027-01-17. Start date September 1, 2026, or as agreed.
