Stadsfastigheter, part of Malmö Municipality, is looking for an experienced and technically skilled Refrigeration and Heat Pump Engineer with Large Kitchen Competence who wants to take strategic and operational responsibility for the development of our buildings' refrigerant installations.

We offer you a key role in a technically competent team working with socially important properties – from schools and sports halls to care homes and cultural heritage sites – within an organization with high ambitions regarding sustainability, digitalization, and energy efficiency.

About the Role

As a Refrigeration and Heat Pump Engineer with Large Kitchen Competence, you are an expert in refrigeration machinery, heat pumps, cold rooms, freezers, and large kitchens. You drive technological development, review and quality-assure documentation, and act as an advisor in both projects and facility management. You work in close collaboration with technical property managers, property managers, project managers, and other specialists within the Energy and Building Technology section.

Your Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for and continuously updating the refrigeration and large kitchen chapters in our design guidelines.
• Conduct technical investigations, planning, and advisory services within your areas of expertise.
• Quality-assure documentation from external consultants and contractors.
• Actively contribute to the transition towards natural and environmentally friendly refrigerants.
• Participate in and develop smart solutions for power management and power limitation related to large kitchens as well as refrigeration and heat pump installations.
• Ensure that our large kitchens, refrigeration systems, and heat pumps comply with current laws, standards, and safety regulations.
• Identify technical improvements for increased operational reliability, energy efficiency, and lifecycle optimization of the buildings' refrigeration and heat pump installations as well as large kitchens.
• Provide qualified technical support to projects and facility management.

You work both independently and in teams, moving freely between strategic, technical, and operational tasks.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• An engineering degree in installation technology, refrigeration, or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in refrigeration design and project management in buildings, or a corresponding specialist role in refrigeration/installation technology within a client organization.
• Good knowledge of the F-gas Regulation.
• Experience with natural refrigerants and reduced climate impact.
• Good knowledge of AMA VVS och Kyla 25, BBR, and other applicable regulations.
• Very good communication skills in Swedish – both written and spoken – with the ability to make technology understandable.
• Good ability to work in digital systems and technical platforms.
• Valid driver's license (Category B).

Meritorious Qualifications:

• Experience in the public sector or working with municipal properties.
• Certification in refrigeration (Category I/II).
• Experience working with natural refrigerants and sustainable refrigeration technology solutions.
• Experience in industrial refrigeration, comfort cooling, or commercial installations.
• Knowledge of kitchen or commodity cooling.
• Knowledge of power management, energy measurement, and smart building systems.
• Experience in quality assurance of system fluids.
