Da Vinci School – Here, learning is close at hand!

At Da Vinci School, you get the chance to work with engaged and ambitious colleagues and inspiring students in grades 7 to 9. The school has fantastic and newly renovated premises in a beautiful building designed by Gert Wingårdh. But the really nice part is all the activity that takes place inside the building. Da Vinci School is part of Ale Cultural Space, and the building also houses the municipal library, a youth center, and Ale School of Culture.

Here at Da Vinci School, teachers are organized in work teams and actively work to develop the operations. We know the importance of meeting our students' curiosity, creativity, and desire to learn in ways that inspire and engage both them and us. We always strive to create the very best conditions for all our students, even those who challenge us the most. And we do it together! Teachers, principals, work team leaders, development leaders, a strong student health service, resource teachers, and a competent and present administration build the team you will become part of. We are also proud to have an engaged student council that helps us improve our school.

We believe that learning happens in many ways, so we place great emphasis on giving our students the opportunity to participate in both sports and cultural activities. Mathematics teaching is an important part of the school's work, and we want to develop it in an innovative way to create engagement and participation among our students. The mathematics subject group consists of six qualified teachers.

We work from a holistic perspective, and you are expected to share our vision and participate in joint activities. At Da Vinci School, we believe in common rules and traditions. We follow them to build safety and well-being. A big heart for the students' best interests is the most important compass.

Job Responsibilities

You are part of Da Vinci School's special educational needs support, where other special education teachers and special educators are your closest colleagues. Together with your colleagues, us principals, and our teachers, you create a good learning environment for each student and teaching group. When the desire is there, learning is easy. Therefore, we want you to work with variety and great engagement so that every student finds their energy. You work both in a supervisory and school development capacity within the subject group and with teachers in the classroom. Here, you get to work with the entire knowledge base of a special education teacher to develop learning at the individual, group, and school levels.

You have two special education teacher colleagues and three special educator colleagues at the school whom you work with daily. At Da Vinci School, the focus is on preventive and promoting student health work, where your profession is of utmost importance.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified secondary school or upper secondary school teacher with a special education degree in mathematics. With the help of your good subject knowledge, you make qualified assessments of students' knowledge and special challenges. You can analyze, critically review, and apply different methods to promote students' mathematical development.

In the role, your good ability to create and maintain relationships with young people is central, and you meet our students with both boundaries and hugs. We are a school in change and should always be an organization where all students are our shared responsibility.

You are secure in your professional role towards students, guardians, and colleagues and have a conscious pedagogical working method where student participation and responsibility are a given. Within your area, you work with the entire process of leadership and stimulation, extra adjustments, and special support to give both teachers and students the best conditions.

You are solution-focused, can develop your work based on evidence-based research, and have high expectations of yourself and those around you. You also have good experience with and knowledge of working with relevant digital tools.
