Högalidsskolan is looking for an enthusiastic teacher for the after-school center!

Högalidsskolan is a primary school in the center of Finspång, catering to students from pre-school class to year six. Currently, approximately 170 students are spread across seven classes.

The school is centrally located in Finspång, close to the library, Arena Grosvad, Vibjörnsparken, and beautiful green areas—an ideal environment for learning and development. Here, the pre-school class, primary school, and after-school center work closely together on various thematic projects throughout the year. Teaching is based on a language- and knowledge-developing approach, focusing on strengthening students' motivation and responsibility. Högalidsskolan has a well-functioning after-school center where student development, safety, and joy are at the center.

Your future responsibilities

As a teacher in the after-school center, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and developing the activities based on the goals of the curriculum and the students' needs. The role involves creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment that promotes students' social, emotional, and academic development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and leading pedagogical activities within the after-school center.
  • Teaching after-school pedagogy and contributing to students' development and learning throughout the school day.
  • Organizing and supervising break-time activities that promote safety, movement, and social community.
  • Stimulating student development through play, creativity, movement, and collaboration.
  • Actively working towards safety, study environment, and good relationships.
  • Collaborating with teachers, student health services, and guardians.
  • Participating in the school's systematic quality work and contributing to the development of the after-school center's pedagogical content, as well as being an active part of the school's values-based work.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is engaged, responsible, and flexible. You have a clear focus on the student and an inclusive approach. You are proactive, solution-oriented, and have good skills in collaboration and relationship building. You contribute to a positive work climate.

You are a certified teacher with qualifications for work in the after-school center. You have good knowledge of the curriculum and the after-school center's mission, as well as the ability to create structure, safety, and good relationships. Furthermore, you are expected to have good collaboration skills, a professional attitude, and very good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

Merits: Experience working in an after-school center, teaching music for years 1–3, and experience working with students in need of special support.
