The Education Department is responsible for preschool, pedagogical care, after-school centers, preschool class, comprehensive school, adapted comprehensive school, upper secondary school, adapted upper secondary school, municipal adult education, Komvux (special education for adults), Swedish for Immigrants (SFI), youth clubs, open preschool, and cultural school.

Preschool and after-school activities are available at all seven F-6 schools, with a geographical spread across the entire municipality.

Altorpskolan, the municipality's only 7-9 school, receives students from all our F-6 schools and is strategically located in central Herrljunga. Kunskapskällan, the municipality's upper secondary school, is also located in the town of Herrljunga.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for an engaged and secure comprehensive school teacher for the lower primary school (grades 1-3). Here, you will become part of a work team that together creates the best conditions for students' learning and development.

In the role, you will also have assignments related to special support, including in mathematics and Swedish, where you work closely with students who need adjustments, guidance, and extra instruction. The position includes some class teaching as well as mentorship for a number of students.

We view collegial learning and effective teams as central parts of our work. The work team collaborates closely around the students, shares planning, analyzes teaching, and drives joint development. You meet regularly to co-plan and engage in pedagogical discussions.

We work to a large extent based on a cooperative approach, which means that you are a clear, secure, and present leader who actively creates participation, interaction, and collaboration in the classroom. You strive to give all students good opportunities to develop as far as possible based on their prerequisites.

As a teacher, you are responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of teaching in accordance with current governing documents. You use both pedagogical skill and conscious leadership to create safety, structure, and study peace. You meet students individually and with a positive, relationship-building approach.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with eligibility for grades 1-3. It is meritorious if you also have experience or eligibility in Swedish as a second language, as many of our students are multilingual.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer.

The position is a parental leave substitute and is until 2027-06-17.

There is a possibility that the position may eventually transition into a permanent position.
