Do you want to help develop future student health services and strengthen collaboration between schools and social services? We are now looking for an engaged and development-oriented social worker with overall responsibility for coordination and development within school social issues. In addition to the strategic and coordinating role, there is also a practice-oriented part where you work as a school counselor. The role involves being a key link between the education department, social services, and other collaborating actors, as well as supporting the schools' student health work.

About us
The education department is the largest office in Upplands Väsby Municipality and is responsible for all forms of operations. In addition to all municipal schools, there are departments for Central Child and Student Health, Support and Development, and Economy and Administration. You will belong to the Central Child and Student Health department, which consists of approximately 25 employees with various competencies.
About the position
In this role, you are responsible for developing collaboration between schools, social services, and other relevant actors. The function is central to developing and implementing approaches for early and coordinated interventions. The assignment also involves actively contributing to creating sustainable structures for collaboration and strengthening the municipality's work in social prevention, including issues such as domestic violence, crime prevention, and other social risk factors.
The work includes developing, implementing, and following up on common routines, methods, and approaches to achieve equal and high-quality student health across the entire organization. The assignment also includes analyzing results and identifying development needs as a basis for systematic quality work.
An important part of the role is to coordinate and support the organization's school counselors. The function involves providing consultative and qualified support in professional matters, coordinating networks and competence development initiatives, and promoting experience sharing and method development. This part of the assignment also includes serving as support to principals and student health teams in development issues.
In addition to the strategic and coordinating assignment, there is a practice-oriented part involving work as a school counselor. This includes providing psychosocial support to students, working preventively and health-promoting in the school environment, and participating in student health teams. The role also includes providing consultation to school staff and collaborating with guardians and external actors when necessary.
Are you the one we are looking for?
We are looking for you who are trained as a social worker. Experience from both schools and social services is meritorious. You should enjoy having a breadth in your tasks.
As a person, you are relationship-building by, among other things, being able to establish contacts and inspire trust. Furthermore, you are collaboration-oriented and solution-oriented, which for us means that you see that the way forward is to work together towards set goals and find solutions that multiple parties can accept from different perspectives. We also believe that you need to be analytical to fit the role, by enjoying working with needs analysis and considering the long-term effect of the work.
