Description

Area Hospital Facilities SU (Sahlgrenska University Hospital), part of Västfastigheter Construction and Management, is responsible for customer relations, facilities, technical systems, and development to create safe and robust premises for a socially vital operation. We carry out maintenance, tenant adaptations, conversions, and new constructions of hospital facilities in Gothenburg.

We are now looking for two interim project managers, one for Östra Hospital and one for Sahlgrenska, who want to help drive our exciting construction projects forward! Although your organizational placement will be at one of the hospitals, you may be tasked with driving projects at other hospital sites within the area, as there is significant collaboration between the hospitals.

Responsibilities

In the role of Project Manager, you act as the client representative and purchaser's representative. You drive and are responsible for all phases of the project, from preliminary studies to procurement, implementation, and handover of the completed project. You will prepare cost estimates, design, and manage projects within established budgets, schedules, and scope. The role is broad as projects vary in size and complexity.

You are also responsible for procurement within the framework of the Public Procurement Act (LOU), engaging required consultants and contractors, and ensuring their deliveries. Your area of responsibility includes monitoring project goals regarding results, budget, time, quality, as well as energy and environment.

An important part of your role is to maintain and ensure good customer dialogue. You report to the project owner and the project steering groups, and collaborate with working groups consisting of both those who will work in our buildings and industry specialists. You are also responsible for contact with authorities, ensuring that necessary permits are obtained and that laws and requirements are followed.

You will be based at our activity-based office at Regionens Hus in Gothenburg.

Qualifications

You are educated as a civil engineer or university college engineer in civil engineering, or alternatively have other education and experience considered equivalent. You are accustomed to and thrive in independently driving projects with good experience of budget responsibility, financial management, and monitoring. Negotiation skills and good customer dialogue are areas you master. Furthermore, you have previous experience leading property projects in positions such as project manager, assistant project manager, project director, or similar. It is an advantage if you have experience of construction contracts, preferably with a focus on collaboration and knowledge of contract law. Experience of working in accordance with the Public Procurement Act (LOU) is also an advantage.

You thrive with a high degree of responsibility and understand the importance of always keeping the big picture in mind. We are looking for you with drive and the ability to create a good collegial work environment. As a person, you value working together with engaged colleagues, and you view sharing your knowledge and learning from each other positively. Your ability to communicate orally and in writing is good. Shared responsibility for the operation's delivery is a matter of course for you. You are driven and self-reliant, and have an easy time organizing your work and planning efficiently. You have the ability to make decisions and act based on the areas of responsibility and mandates you have.
