Description
At Hvitfeldtska Gymnasium, the future has been shaped since 1647 – do you want to be part of it? Hvitfeldtska Gymnasium is a prestigious school and a dynamic workplace with approximately 2,000 students and 220 employees. The school is centrally located in Gothenburg and offers an inspiring environment where historical traditions meet a modern and international educational context. We take great pride in running a knowledge-oriented operation with a high academic profile and a clear international character.
As an employee here, you will become part of a professional community. We have close cooperation with both business life and universities. The school is also distinguished by strong student engagement through Gothenburg's largest student union. We value a good working environment and have a long tradition of joint gatherings that strengthen the collegium throughout the school year.
We are looking for you who want to work in an environment with high expectations and contribute to our continued development. Visit our website www.hvitfeldtska.se for more information about us.
Responsibilities
In preparation for the autumn term, we are looking for a new special needs educator (specialpedagog), linked to the Economics Programme and the Sales and Service Programme. As a special needs educator at Hvitfeldtska Gymnasium, you are expected to work promotively, preventively, and remedially from a broad student health perspective at the group, individual, and organizational levels. The work is varied and requires you to build trusting relationships with the students and be present in their learning environment and school day. The position also involves contributing to the school's programme-specific development projects.
In this role, you are a qualified advisor and supervisor to our teachers regarding pedagogical matters. You are responsible for investigations, drawing up, implementing, and following up on action plans in consultation with the principal.
You are part of the school's student health team and are expected to be driving forces in our joint work together with the school's other professions. Within the framework of your position, there is also room for regular collegial meetings focusing on competence development and experience sharing based on your profession.
To thrive in the role, you see opportunities rather than obstacles and are motivated by giving our students the tools they need to succeed in an academically ambitious environment.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a teaching license at the upper secondary level and are trained as a special needs educator. You have previous experience from upper secondary school as well as education and/or experience within the area of neuropsychiatric functional variations (NPF). It is also highly meritorious if you have previously worked as a special needs educator.
Your pedagogical approach and social skills make it easy for you to create trust and maintain good relationships. You are skilled at translating your knowledge into practical work with students, supervising staff, and working with special support.
You have very good collaboration skills and enjoy working in a team close to both student health personnel and the school's management. You have the ability to work in a structured and organized manner and can handle several parallel issues without losing focus.
You have a genuine commitment to the development and learning of young people, as well as a firm anchoring in the school's value base. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
Interviews may take place on an ongoing basis, so please send in your application as soon as possible. We warmly welcome your application!
Other Information
For your interview, you need to bring a passport/national ID and, if applicable, proof of residence permit if you have citizenship outside the EU/EEA. This is because, as employers, we need to verify your identity and ensure that you have the right to work in Sweden.
With reference to the laws regulating register checks, anyone offered this position must present an extract from the criminal record register before an employment contract can be drawn up.
For positions where there are educational requirements, those who proceed in the recruitment process will be asked to submit documentation proving their education, e.g., license or diploma. You can also attach them directly to your application.
We decline all offers of advertising and recruitment assistance in connection with this advertisement.
