Björkhöjdskolan 7-9 opened in autumn 2021 and is a Grades F-9 school with a hearing profile. The school has two principals and is divided into two units: Grades F-6 and Grades 7-9.

Knowledge, collaboration, and external contacts are important for the future. We want students to reach as far as they can and be challenged at their level. Our classrooms have been newly renovated, and the rooms for Science, Home Economics, Craft, Music, and Art are equipped with new facilities. The gymnasium is spacious, and school meals are prepared on-site. Björkhöjdskolan 7-9 is centrally located with nature just around the corner.

The role involves working as a resource teacher/student assistant within the school's hearing profile, providing support to students with hearing impairments.

As a student assistant, you serve as a positive role model and a secure adult presence. You are active and involved in the student's daily life, contributing stability, structure, and routines. Your approach is motivating, and you work with significant student influence to provide opportunities for development.

Applicants must have relevant upper secondary education, such as Child and Youth Care, Student Assistant Education, or alternatively a degree in Support Pedagogy or Social Pedagogy from a Folk High School or University College. Knowledge and experience in Sign Support (TAKK) is a requirement.

Experience working in schools, particularly at the middle school level, is meritorious. We value experience working with students with hearing impairments, Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NPF), low-affective interaction, and clarifying pedagogy.

You have good skills in implementing adaptations for children in need of support and are flexible regarding both short-term and long-term changes that are part of the pedagogical work. Furthermore, you are a responsible and clear student assistant with a positive attitude and good communication skills. We are looking for someone who treats others well and easily builds relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.
