Description

We are expanding our operations and need more employees for a fantastic team. The adapted upper secondary school at Sötåsen Nature School comprises approximately 45 students and 15 staff members. The activity focuses on the students' learning and development through high expectations and trust in the student's ability. We offer an environment where both heart and mind have a place. As part of the team at the adapted upper secondary school, you will have the opportunity to work in a group where cooperation, helpfulness, and engagement are key words. All students are everyone's students, which means you will never stand alone with a challenge but are also expected to contribute to the whole.

Responsibilities

As a teacher in nature studies, biology/nature studies, and loader operation, you are responsible for the planning, implementation, and follow-up of teaching within the subject and related areas across all school forms offered at the school. Teaching takes place both theoretically and practically in the school's premises and at the school's various facilities. Coordinating Work Integrated Learning (WIL/APL) is included in the role.

The responsibilities also include:

• Guiding students in practical tasks within forestry, land, and animals, both individually and in groups.
• Evaluating and documenting students' knowledge development.
• Participating in team work and the school's development work.
• Collaborating with colleagues, guardians, and the industry.
• Contributing to a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Having mentorship and class teacher responsibilities for a group of students.
• Teaching may also be included in other school forms.

The vocational teacher role gives you a unique opportunity to combine professional expertise with pedagogical work. You become a key person in creating good conditions for the students' future lives, where our high expectations of students are a clear success factor. There is some possibility to shape the position based on your area of competence.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated as an agricultural manager, forest manager, agronomist, agricultural technician, or have equivalent education, and have practical experience within nature studies, including forestry, gardening, animals, or farming.

You are structured, responsible, and have good collaboration skills. You contribute to a positive work climate and have the ability to adapt teaching to the students' needs.

A Category B driver's license for manual transmission is required.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Meritorious qualifications

• Experience of teaching or guidance.
• Vocational teacher certification or ongoing pedagogical education.

Conditions

Permanent position with 100% employment, holiday service. Start date August 3rd or as agreed. Selection and interview work may take place continuously, so apply today and no later than June 10th. To obtain employment within the school, a certificate of conduct from both the criminal record register and the suspicion register for work with children is required.
