Description

Do you have a passion for good food and service, and do you want to help develop the school kitchens of the future? We are now looking for a Head Chef for an area covering eight primary schools in Backa and Tuve. Together with your fellow Head Chef, you will lead a team of 30 cooks and meal assistants, ensuring that our guests are served delicious and nutritious meals every day.

Responsibilities

Your mission as Head Chef is to lead the operational work in the kitchen in an inclusive and pedagogical manner. You will be visible, present, and active in the operations, both for the work group and the guests in the dining hall, ensuring high quality and service levels. Sustainability is close to your heart, and you have an environmentally and climate-adapted approach to work. The role involves both practical and administrative tasks, with an emphasis on the practical work.

You will collaborate closely with your Head Chef colleagues and be responsible for recipe, menu, and purchasing planning. You will work with various IT systems for ordering, communication, and meal planning. We strive to cook more meals from scratch, serve a large portion of vegetarian food, and reduce our food waste. We offer you a developing assignment where your experience and passion for cooking contribute to a better daily life for our guests.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have several years of experience as a cook and experience in leading groups within public kitchens or the restaurant industry. Experience and education as a Head Chef are meritorious.

Furthermore, you have experience with special diets, vegetarian cooking, and purchasing, as well as experience working with self-control according to HACCP. Since we work with several IT systems, we are looking for someone with good computer skills and experience working in meal data programs. Experience with the meal data program Matilda is meritorious. You handle the Swedish language with ease, both written and orally.

You have a genuine interest in cooking and work systematically while planning your time well. You have a structured way of working and can organize work in a large kitchen. It is important that you stay updated on new findings and trends within public meals as well as the private sector.

As a person, you are solution-focused, flexible, and can handle unexpected situations. To achieve your goals in the Head Chef role, we want you to have the ability to inspire and be inspired by your group so that you reach your daily goals together. You create a sense of team spirit, which contributes to good relationships between employees, operations, and our dining guests.

It is important that you are secure in your role as a leader in the kitchen and that you have very good communication skills. You have the ability to share information and ideas, both orally and in writing.

You have the interest, will, and ability to help others and strive to present solutions. You care about finding out what expectations exist from the client and other stakeholders, and you follow up to ensure these are incorporated. You are balanced, positive, and observant in your customer service, with a high service level towards our guests, young and old.

You work efficiently under stress, can balance different demands, and keep your cool in difficult situations. You distinguish between facts and personality and can make well-founded decisions under time pressure.
