Boqueria Göteborg is located at Götaplatsen in the heart of Gothenburg. The dining room is integrated into our open kitchen, creating a vibrant atmosphere inspired by tapas bars in London and Madrid. The bar offers a lively and cozy ambiance in the evenings. During the summer months, we also have a large outdoor terrace that provides a delightful Mediterranean atmosphere.
About the Role
As our Head Chef, you are responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen, leading and developing the kitchen team, and ensuring high quality and consistent flavor in all dishes. You will plan workflows, review menus in collaboration with management, and handle ordering, ingredient management, and cost control. The role involves both operational work at the stove and strategic responsibility for kitchen routines, working environment, and guest experience.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and schedule kitchen staff, creating a positive and developmental work environment.
- Responsible for menu development in collaboration with restaurant management, adapting to seasons and ingredient availability.
- Ensure quality, presentation, and timing in production during lunch and dinner services.
- Plan and execute mise en place and production routines for efficient delivery to the serving area.
- Manage orders, supplier contacts, ingredient handling, and cost control.
- Maintain and follow food hygiene and HACCP routines, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and order in the kitchen.
- Make quick operational decisions when needed and act as a problem solver in stressful situations.

Requirements
- Documented experience from restaurant kitchens, preferably with previous experience as a head chef or similar leadership role.
- Strong technical skills, a sense for flavor, timing, and presentation.
- Experience in menu planning, cost control, and order management.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP routines.
- Ability to work structured under pressure and make quick decisions.
- Flexibility regarding working hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English is desirable.
