The Primary School Administration is now looking for an experienced Financial Controller!

We are looking for you who want to take overall responsibility for developing our financial management towards an increasingly mature matrix organization. Your task will be to define future working patterns and lead the strategic shift towards a more efficient and proactive administration. The Department of Economy, Service, and Cultural School is responsible for, among other things, premises supply, development of physical learning environments, meal services, premises maintenance, caretaker services, economic planning and follow-up, as well as purchasing and procurement. The department consists of approximately 1,300 full-time equivalents. At the Economy Unit, you will become part of a team of approximately 30 employees where you work closely with managers, controllers, and coordinators to shape new structures through exploration, experimentation, and learning.

Job Responsibilities

You lead both the short- and long-term development of the administration's overarching financial management regarding budget, follow-up, forecasting, scenario work, and analysis. The role requires technical proficiency and the ability to communicate complex information so that it becomes guiding for strategic decisions and daily priorities. You develop the administration's data-driven management by building predictive models that connect student forecasts, resource allocation, and premises supply to secure decision-making foundations. With a focus on value-creating analysis, you explore the potential in AI and automation to streamline our processes. You drive development forward by practically testing, measuring, and scaling solutions where technology creates the greatest benefit for the operations.

Your responsibilities include:

• Driving the development of financial management as a strategic function by developing the unit's working patterns for increased efficiency, quality, and foresight to meet future needs.
• Developing the administration's scenario and forecasting work so that we can navigate the structural transition with accurate decision-making foundations.
• Identifying tasks that can be automated or simplified to free up time for analysis and management.
• Navigating cross-functionally through a modern and data-driven approach, seeing digitalization and AI as natural tools to streamline operations.

As strategic support to the unit manager, you contribute to developing the organization, working methods, and priorities. You drive the development of how the economic function best supports autonomous teams and distributed decision-making, while guiding managers and controllers in complex management and analysis issues.

Qualifications

Requirements for the position are:

• University education in the field of economics at the university level (180 ECTS credits), preferably with a focus on public administration or another degree that the employer deems relevant for the position.
• At least 3 years of experience in qualified economic work with budget, follow-up, and financial management.
• Experience in leading or coordinating complex processes and/or large development projects in a larger organization.
• Experience in supporting managers within economic processes.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Further education in economics, preferably a master's degree.
• Experience in leading or supporting financial management during major structural transitions.
• Experience working in a matrix organization with process owners, process leaders, and cross-functional collaborations.
• Experience with AI and digital working methods.
• Experience from the public sector or schools.

Personal Competencies

We are looking for an analytical economist with a strong holistic perspective and the drive to achieve results in complex contexts and large-scale transitions.

As a person, you are innovative and enjoy testing, evaluating, and adjusting solutions to build a sustainable and forward-looking organization. You lead by enabling and are confident in the role as strategic support to management. Your ability to combine structure with trust allows you to guide others in complex issues and drive development without formally being a manager. As a Financial Controller, you are receptive and invite dialogue so that the team can achieve the best possible results together.
