As the largest employer with over 2,200 employees in 100 different professional roles, we offer a meaningful working life where development, community, and public benefit meet. With Vision 2040 – "Together towards the future" – we are shaping an innovative and sustainable everyday life, together. Here, you make a real difference every day in a culture characterized by courage, engagement, and opportunities to grow – both professionally and personally. Are you ready to shape the future of Ulricehamn, together with us?

The Learning Sector works for a cohesive and inclusive learning environment for everyone – from the youngest to adults. Together, we create a culture where participation, security, and high expectations are at the center. Through collaboration, language, and presence, we lay the foundation for goal achievement and lifelong learning.

The Adapted School in Ulricehamn Municipality, part of the Tingsholm school district, offers education to students with intellectual disabilities, carefully tailored to each student's individual prerequisites from primary school to upper secondary and adult levels. The operations are based on the same structure as the regular primary school but also include special subject areas that promote students' motor skills, communication, daily activities, aesthetic development, and understanding of reality. Here, every student has the opportunity to develop in a secure learning environment where participation, learning, and hope for the future are central.

We are looking for an engaged, proactive, and knowledgeable employee who, together with us, wants to continue developing tomorrow's adapted school. You will be an important part of creating a secure, developmental, and inclusive everyday life for our students. We welcome your application!

Job Responsibilities

Your task is to plan, lead, and develop teaching for students based on the subjects and subject areas of the adapted school, with a focus on each student's individual abilities, needs, and goals. You create good conditions for learning by using adapted methods and an inclusive pedagogy that aligns with the curriculum's intentions regarding harmonious development, participation, and exploratory learning.

Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for ensuring that students receive the pedagogical and social support they need to develop and reach their goals. Your role may occasionally include tasks that otherwise fall under student assistants, to support students in daily and social situations where needed. You also contribute to the overall pedagogical development work and collaborate closely with lead teachers, principals, and other educators to strengthen the quality of teaching and create a cohesive, secure, and stimulating learning environment.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified special needs teacher and have experience working in preschool, school, or adapted school settings. It is an advantage if you are a special needs teacher with a specialization in intellectual disabilities and if you have knowledge of sign language and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Good competence in using digital aids is also seen as a valuable asset. Furthermore, experience working with students with neuropsychiatric disabilities, particularly autism, as well as students with visual and hearing impairments, is considered an advantage.

In your professional role, you work in a structured manner and have a flexible attitude towards changing needs and situations. You have good collaboration skills and are skilled at building trusting relationships with both students and colleagues. To thrive in this role, you need to be secure and stable, even in situations that may be pressurized or challenging. You meet students and the surrounding environment with calmness, clarity, and empathy, and have a solution-focused attitude that contributes to a positive work environment.

Personal suitability is given great weight.
